Create an invoice for a client

Create and finalize a client invoice, download or email the PDF, then keep its delivery and payment status up to date.

Before the first invoice

Open My business. Add the Invoice details for your business and create the client you are billing. Friday Falcon saves those details in the invoice version so a later profile change does not silently rewrite a finalized invoice.

Create and finalize the invoice

  1. Open My business, then Invoices.
  2. Choose Create invoice.
  3. Choose the client and add the dates, one or more invoice lines, tax amount, and note. Friday Falcon calculates the total.
  4. Choose Review invoice. Check the draft and its calculated total, then choose Finalize this PDF.
  5. Choose Download PDF, or choose Email invoice if connected email is available for your My business workspace.

Finalizing creates an unchangeable invoice version and PDF. Finalizing alone does not deliver the invoice to the client.

When editing an existing draft, choose Save and review to open the review page. If you opened the draft through Email invoice, the final action is Finalize and continue to email. It returns you to the composer without sending the invoice.

Email or deliver the invoice

If connected email is available, choose Email invoice. Connect or select your Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook, or Microsoft 365 mailbox, review the From address, recipient, subject, message, and attached PDF, then send. Friday Falcon records the provider's acceptance of the send request; that does not guarantee inbox delivery or opening.

Connected email is being introduced in a controlled rollout, so it may not be available for every account yet.

You can always choose Download PDF and deliver it through your preferred email, client portal, mail, or another method. After sending it outside Friday Falcon, open More invoice actions and choose Record sent another way to record the date and method. That action records what you did; it does not send another copy.

Track client payments

Enter a full or partial client payment after you receive it. The invoice shows Paid only when the entered payments cover the invoice total.

If a payment was entered incorrectly, use Correct payment. The earlier payment and its reversal remain in payment history.
